Chris Costa on stage at Entrata summit

CardVault by Tom Brady Co-Founder and Managing Partner Chris Costa joined Entrata CEO Adam Edmunds on LinkedIn, opens in a new tab on stage at the annual Entrata Summit in Salt Lake City to announce something we've been building quietly: CardVault Cares. It's a new initiative, in partnership with the team at Entrata, to put sports cards directly into the hands of children in foster care. Over the past month, every CardVault by Tom Brady location asked customers to donate cards, packs, and boxes. The response was overwhelming: more than 200,000 individual cards and tens of thousands of dollars worth of sealed product, all of it headed to foster children later this month.

Why Chris Costa Announced CardVault Cares at the Entrata Summit

Entrata has been doing real, tangible work with children in foster care for years, and that's what drew Costa to this partnership in the first place. When Adam Edmunds and his team invited Costa to join them on stage at this year's Summit in Salt Lake City, it felt like the right moment for CardVault to go public with something it had wanted to do since day one: use what it does, cards, collecting, community, to give back in a way that's personal. CardVault Cares is CardVault piggybacking on the work Entrata has already built, and lending its own community's energy to it.

How Much Did the CardVault Community Donate?

Over the last month, every single CardVault by Tom Brady location put out the call to its customers, the collectors who walk through the doors every week, and asked them to donate. They showed up. CardVault collected over 200,000 individual cards, plus tens of thousands of dollars worth of sealed packs and boxes. That's thousands of individual collectors deciding a card in their own box was worth more in a foster kid's hands than their own.

What Happens Next: Getting These Cards to Foster Children

Later this month, CardVault will be delivering these donations directly to foster children.  A card collection is one of those things that's genuinely, entirely yours. Nobody assigned it to you, nobody's going to take it away, and you get to decide what matters in it. Kids in foster care often move between homes more than most people ever will, and rarely get to keep much that's truly theirs. That's what makes this so special.

Why This Initiative Means So Much to Chris Costa

"An opportunity to give these children something that truly belongs only to them… their very own card collection." — Chris Costa, via LinkedIn

Costa has spent his career in this industry because collecting cards was never just about the cardboard for him, it was about ownership, identity, and the stories he built around what he collects. CardVault Cares is a chance to hand that same feeling to kids who need it most. Costa is grateful to Adam Edmunds and the entire Entrata team for the partnership, and to every CardVault customer who dropped a card, a pack, or a box into a donation bin without being asked twice.
